Our Beliefs
God
There is only one living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness, and He is all powerful and all knowing. God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Genesis 1:1; 2:7; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus
Jesus is the eternal Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless life during which He perfectly revealed and did the will of God. By Jesus' substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with glory and power, conquering sin and death. Jesus ascended into heaven at the right hand of God, where He is the One mediator between God and man. Jesus will return in glory and power as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Matthew 1:18-23, John 1:18; Ephesians 1:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18, Hebrews 12:2, 1 Peter 2:21-25, 1 John 1:7-9
Man
Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. In the beginning, man was innocent of sin and endowed by God with freedom of choice. By man’s free choice, he disobeyed God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God.
Genesis 1:27, Acts 17:26-31; Romans 5:6-19; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, Colossians 1:21-22
Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
John 3:3-21; 5:24; 15:1-16, Romans 5:8-10; 8:1-18, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, Ephesians 2:8-22
The Bible
The Bible is God’s word to man. It was written by human authors who were divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the supreme standard for conduct, creed, and religious opinion. It is the testimony to Christ, who is the focus of its revelation to mankind.
Psalm 119:105, Psalm 12:6, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 1:13
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
2 Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13; 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18
The Church
The church is the body of Christ united and serving in local congregations. The mission of the church is to take the truth of the Bible to others in love proclaiming the salvation of Jesus Christ and growing disciples to do the same.
Matthew 16:15-19, Acts 2:41-42, Ephesians 2:19-22,
Baptism
Baptism is a symbolic act of obedience that shows our new life in Christ. It symbolizes our death to sin and our resurrection to a new life in Jesus Christ. Baptism is by immersion in water. Baptism itself cannot save a person; it is simply an act of obedience for believers.
Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 6:3-5, Colossians 2:12
